Matthew B. Brady - the Official Photograher of the Civil War - Who Ended up Dying a Pauper without the US Government Paying Him (rightfully) for his work - like many others, he ended up becoming a "Civilian Casualty" of the War - without him, there would not have been the coverage and more importantly, the Pictures that either he or his associates filmed first hand. Mr. Brady, my hat's off to you, and perhaps this website will help to preserve your unrecognized work! It did not go for no avail - the future generations will remember your contribution to covering this war. Walter Cronkite, Dan Rather, Wolf Blietzer and the rest of modern day news coverage personnell, you have nothing on Mr. Brady. He paid for the war coverage himself and lost everything in the process!
