INDIANA REGIMENTS

17th Indiana Infantry Regiment

Company ?

Ancestors

  • Ungary, John (spelling?) - Seeking any information on two G.G.F's: a John Ungary (various spellings) with the 17th Indiana, wounded at Hoover's Gap with the Lightning Brigade under Wilder. Also on an Emanuel Heckerman (later Heckaman) of Marshall County, Ind., with the 26th Ohio Independent Co. of Light Artillery, the last such unit formed from Ohio. E-mail Jim Strang at: Hortator@Centuryinter.net
  • 91st Indiana Infantry Regiment

    Company ?

    Ancestors

  • Cockriel, or Cockerel/Cockrell etc. (spelling?), Hamilton Buel - I recently learned that my distance relative served in the Civil War. He reportedly enlisted in the 128th Regiment of Indiana Volunteers and later in the 91st Indiana Infantry Regiment. Looking for information concerning my ancestor as well as these units.
