First Michigan Engineers and Mechanics

Company H

  • Winters, Edwin Elliott. My ggf, Edwin Elliot Winters, served in the First Michigan Engineers and Mechanics, Co. H from 1861/1864. Mustered out at Atlanta, Ga. Oct. 1864. Died in Montgomery, Ala. 1930. His muster records show him being born in Ottawa-could be Canada or Michigan. Enlisted at Albion,Mi. No enlistment record showing his address or parents at the Nat. Archives in Washington, D.C. I' m trying to identify his parents through him. He may have had a brother, possibly named John, who might have lived in California in later life. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Wiley Winters at WintersW@cchat.com
