Stephenson, Amos - My wife's g-grandfather, Amos Stephenson, was a member of Co. D, 31st NC Infantry Regiment. I notice there is no reference to this regiment in your listings. I also have copy of a letter he wrote his wife during the first part of his service. He was captured at the Battle of Cold Harbor (2d) in June 1864. He was then transferred to Pt. Lookout prison where he stayed approximately one month after which he was transferred to Elmira, NY, prisoner of war camp in New York. After taking the oath of allegiance in June 1865 he was released and came back to NC. Jim Klibbe, 3113 Merrianne Dr., Raleigh, NC 27607-3014, klibbe@excelonline.com
