TENNESSEE INFANTRY REGIMENTS
Ancestors
Surratt, Jacob B. - Looking for any information concerning the 5th Tennessee Confederate Infantry, especially a Confederate soldier by the name of Jacob A. Surratt. He was in company C of the 5th Tennessee Infantry. I have in my custody a nice grave stone which is his. This was being used as a stepping stone at someones back door in Benton County, Tennessee. It is in excellent shape and was told to have been at this residence since the l960s when there was a train wreck near Camden, Tennessee, and someone took this stone from the wreckage. I would like to locate this gravesite and return this stone where it should be. Any information on the 5th Tenn Infantry company C or on Jacob A. Surratt would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Steve DeLoach-Member Simonton-Wilcox Camp #257 Sons Of Confederate Veteran. E-Mail, at sdeloach@lctn.com

Wilson, Bart - I have been researching my family history with emphasis on my surname, Wilson. I use to question my deceased grandfather in this area and the only story he could ever remember was about his grandfather Bart Wilson and Bart's brother, Jim pertaining to the Battle of Shiloh, both fighting side by side with one left-handed and one right-handed. I remember when I was young a Confederate hat hung on my great-grandfather's wall which supposedly belonged to his father, Bart. The story from my great aunt was that Bart supposedly signed up for the Confedaracy at Bolivar, Tennessee. Through my research I have found that the only records pertaining to a Bart Wilson was with the 12th Consolidated Tennessee Infantry Company H. The 12th mustered out of Trenton, Tennessee; however, Company H was formed by the consolidation of the 12th and 22nd Tennessee Infantry Co.'s A & B which did in fact sign up in Bolivar. I have received copies of the military records of both Bart and James M. Wilson from the National Archives and am convinced that they were brothers and whom I was searching for. I'm sure if your still reading your tired of me rambling but I am looking for any records or history of the 22nd and 12th Consdated Tennessee Infantry Units. Any information would be greatly appreciated, email Forest40@.aol.com or write Scott Wilson, 187 Ash-Rene, Millington, Tn. 38053.
(you got it, Scott!)

Harris, Dr. Lucian Jefferson - Dear Sir: My grandfather's obituary which made headlines in the Hopkinsville-Kentuckian, Tues., December 2, 1913 stated Old Soldier's Last Tattoo. Dr. Lucian Jefferson Harris, whose critical illness was noted from time to time in the Kentuckian, peacefully passed away Saturday morning at his home a few miles northwest of town. etc. He was a Confederate veteran and seldom missed the annual reunions, in which he took a keen delight. His military service was rendered August 1862 to December 1863, when failing health forced him to be honorable discahrged. He served first in Co. G, 7th Tennessee cavalry and later in the 13th Tennessee. He was living in Sumner County, Tenn. east of Gallatin, Tenn. His step-father was Dr. Raymond Head of Sumner Co., Tenn. He attended Confederate Reunions in Birmingham,Al. in 1909, in Memphis, Tenn. in Richmond, Va.
I am unable to find a record of his service. Can you help me. Edna Harris Bushnell, 2919 Fairway Drive, Birmingham, Al. 35213. Tel.205-871-2154, EBushnell@prodigy.net
